THE DETOXIFICATION PROGRAM

Everyday our bodies are affected by environmental pollutions, improper diet or eating habits, medication, substance abuse and stress. This detoxification program is designed to cleanse all the eliminative organs in a systematic way, helping the body to effectively rid itself of these toxic substances and recover vibrant health. See: Nancy’s Book: Detoxification for Optimum Health.

Many of the therapies work on a couple of organs at a time. For example, saunas help the lungs and the skin (the later of which is also the largest eliminative organ). Colonics and enemas clean the colon, of course, but this process also relieves the kidneys and liver tremendously so we can do a finer tune up and cleansing on them. This is done with various combinations of juice and water. Juice therapy is a significant part of the fasting process. It is so important that each of the eliminative organs, the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, skin and lymphatic system, be handled in the order of importance. It is fruitless to scour your sink when your drain is plugged. The dirt has nowhere to go! So we take our detoxification program step by step until at last the all-important lymphatic system is cleansed and your body is rid of toxins on a cellular level. Then peak immunity can begin and you are on the road to vibrant health!

The following is a list of therapies and the organs they help:

Colonics/Enemas: This cleans out the accumulated debris in the colon that would reabsorb back through the colon wall into the lymphatic system then into the blood stream for the liver, lungs, kidneys and skin to detoxify. So you see that Colonics aid in cleansing all the eliminative organs and the lymphatic system as well, which is considered to be an important part of the immune system.

Lymphatic Massage: The Lymphatic System, being fluid by nature, responds well to the flowing movements of massage. The lymph does not have a heart to pump it so it needs movement of the body to stimulate it to flow. Our deep lymph drainage massage uses pressure on release points to move toxic debris from all other eliminative organs and the small intestines. It cannot be emphasized enough the importance of drinking lots of distilled water to cleanse the lymphatic system especially before a lymphatic massage.

Lymph-Light Treatments: This ionized light shakes up the molecular structure of the fluid in the nodes and ducts so that is it more fluid and like its normal healthy ionization. This helps to mobilize it so the massage movements can produce a deep and complete drainage.

Castor Oil Pack: This is an Edgar Cayce remedy for swollen lymph nodes and fibroid cysts (benign only). It was later found to be quite healing to the entire lymphatic system and has since been incorporated into the lymphatic massage.

Intestinal Cleansing Products: These “broom out” the stomach, small intestines and colon of all the accumulated debris and excessive mucous, thus increasing nutrient digestion and absorption. This should be taken before, during and after the fast up to 3x daily to aid in the cleansing process of the digestive tract. It is essential to drink plenty of purified water while using these or they could dehydrate and constipate the system.

Foot Reflexology: This is a wonderful massage to exchange with a friend or self-administer. Through massaging the feet every organ in the body is stimulated and cleansed. Areas that are painful or sensitive show organs that may need help in healing.

Infrared Saunas: Sweating is the fastest way to eliminate the toxins held in the tissues. It helps the lymph system to balance its saline content but only when drinking lots of water. This type of sauna helps to detoxify from heavy metals and increase endorphins, which subsequently heals wounds and joint pain.

Hot Tub: Hot tubs alone relax the muscles and increase circulation to the entire body. With added mineral therapy it draws toxins out of the skin just as mudpacks do. It encourages sweating and the opening of pores just as saunas do. It also softens the epidermis or outside layer of skin so when accompanied with dry brush massage or a loofah scrub it cleans the old layers of dead skin off so it can function at its peak as an eliminative organ.

Salt Glow: Using sun dried sea salt with essential oils and organic sesame oil is rubbed all over the bodies surface to exfoliate and remove the dead skin from the surface of the body. This will enhance the organs eliminatory process.

Aromatherapy: Lavender essential oil relax the mind and sedate the nervous system. Different fragrances can be quite stimulating such as peppermint. Rosemary is helpful in keeping moisture in the hair, especially dark hair. Eucalyptus oil is healing to the lungs by helping them to expel excessive mucous. There are many different oils that can be used in Aromatherapy. I recommend doing some reading to find the ones that will suit your needs.

Yoga/Pranayama: This is one of the oldest forms of exercise coming from India and the Orient. The Indians judge a person’s age by the suppleness of their spine for they believe that all the vital energy of the body runs up the spine. Yoga is a systematic form of stretching the various muscle groups in the body, a “self massage” you could call it. In this process of stretching the internal organs and glands are stimulated and relaxed. Pranayama or deep breathing is a way to oxygenate the bloodstream thus helping to eliminate toxins and encourage the body to function at its peak performance.

Meditation: This is a very ancient form of self-therapy. The procedure is very simple: sit with the spine straight (either cross legged on the floor or on a chair) so that the kundalini (life energy) can freely move up the spine. Then with eyes closed and using slow deep breathing techniques, relax the body and quiet the mind until stillness and peace has taken over the entire being. This practice is healing to the body, mind and spirit. Yogis use this practice very proficiently to tap into their inner knowing or to commune with God.

There are many other parts of the therapy program that are essential to creating good health: Getting plenty of sleep and drinking lots of pure water, getting adequate exercise are all very important stepping stones for building and maintaining health on a regular basis.
